Are Ninja Blenders dishwasher safe or are they something you need to wash by hand? It’s an important question because not all blenders are dishwasher safe. And even blenders that advertise themselves as dishwasher safe are not always completyly dishwasher safe.
If you end up getting a blender that can’t be cleaned in the dishwasher and you try and wash it, then you are likely going to ruin it.
So, let’s review the different Ninja blenders and look at each one and determine if you can safely wash them in your dishwasher.
First Things First: Do Not Submerge The Base!
Blenders That Are Dishwasher Safe: Important Notes
Before we get started and look at the different Ninja blenders that are out there on the market, it’s important to understand that almost no blender is completely dishwasher safe. You can’t put the entire blender into the dishwasher.
This is true of Ninja blender, Vitamix blenders, BlendTec blenders, and countless other blenders. The base of the blender can never be placed into the dishwasher.
If you do, you’re going to completely ruin the blender and need to get a replacement. It will also void the warrenty. The base of all blenders is not dishwasher safe.
To clean the blender base, you have to hand wash it with a paper towel or a sponge. You cannot submerge the blender base into water. That includes a sink or a dishwasher.
The reason that the blender base can not be cleaned in a dishwasher is that it contains the motor. The electrical components are simply not suitable to being washed in a sink or dishwasher. The electtical componets of the motor will be completely damaged beyond repair if you use a dishwasher or even submerge in a sink.
Now that you know that you can never clean the blender base using a dishwasher, let’s move on to look at the different Ninja blenders and see which ones are dishwasher safe for the parts that you can clean in a dishwasher!
Is The Ninja Personal Blender Dishwasher Safe?
The Ninja Personal Blender available online at Amazon.
This is the smallest and best selling ninja blender on the market. It’s marketed to pepople who don’t have the room in their kitchen for a large blender.
It’s also very affordable. I think that as a starter blender, it really can’t be beat.
Unless you are planning on making green smoothies, then a small personal ninja Blender is perfect.
So, is this Ninja blender dishwasher safe?

The Blender Lids:
The blender lids are used to keep the smoothie from spilling. And yes, the lids are dishwasher safe.
The Ninja Blades:
Yes, the ninja blades are dishwasher safe. You can easily place them in the dishwasher to have them cleaned up. The blades are in the blending jar, so you can certainly place them in the dishwasher.
Is The Ninja Professional Blender 1000 Dishwasher Safe?
Here’s the Ninja Professional Blender 1000 on Amazon
If you’re looking for a bigger blender, and you like the Ninja blender line, then the Professional 1000 is a good pick.
It’s an affordable blender and a good entry level blender for people who want something bigger than your small, bullet, personal sized blenders.
My only caveat is that it’s not adept at making green smoothies that well. If you are someone who is set on making green smoothies, then I’d suggest that you read my review of the best blender for green smoothies.
However, if you are ok with making fruit smoothies and using microgreens when you do make a green smoothie, then the Ninja professional is ok.
Let’s see if it’s dishwasher safe:
The Blending Jar:
The Ninja professional is a rather straightfoward blender. It really only has two pieces. The blending jar and the base.
As we’ve discussed, the blending base is not dishwasher safe on any blender. The blending jar can be. And the Ninja blending jar is safe. It is made of a dishwasher safe material.
The Blender Blades:
Like the smaller, bullet sized Ninja blender, the Ninja professional has blades that are in the blending jar. You do not have to unscrew them in order to have them cleaned. It’s easy enough to simply put the entire blender jar unit including the blades into the dishwasher and have them cleaned.
Is The Ninja Professional 1100 Dishwasher Safe?
Like the other blenders on this list, you need to avoid ever putting the blending base into the dishwasher. However, the blending jar, the blades, and the small smoothie containers are all dishwasher safe.
The blender containers that are used for travel are the most common items to used in the dishwasher. I often times will hand clean the blender with a scrub brush, but if you’re cleaning out the small blender smoothie jars, then it’s easier and faster to simply add them to the dishwasher.
Is The Ninja Pro Compact Blender Dishwasher Safe?
Another of my favoriate blenders, the Ninja pro compact is a trused small personal blender. And It’s unique in that it doesn’t have a ton of extra bells and whistles. I actually like that!
This bledner is compact and perfect for small kitchens.
The blending jar is dishwasher safe.
The blade is dishwasher safe.
It’s a super simple and easy to clean blender.
Is the Nutri Ninja Dishwasher Safe?
The Nutri Ninja blender is one the most all inclusive blenders on the market. As you can see from the photo above, it comes with a huge array of accessories.
And the great thing about this blender is that all of the accessories are dishwasher safe The lids, the containers, the blade, and the blending jar.
Each item — aside from the actual blender base itself—can be safely cleaned in the dishwasher.
That includes the following dishwasher safe items:
- Blending Jar
- Small, Regular Sized, and Large(Jumbo) Smoothie Containers
- Lids
Also, a really unique and cool feature of this particular blender is that it has an Auto-IQ design which knows exactly how to blend so that you don’t need to guestimate. It takes the guess work out of making a smoothie.
Handwashing vs Dishwashing Blenders
You can certainly clean any of the blenders above using a dishwasher, but there are instances where you might want to hand clean them. The reason for using a hand cleaning process is because the blender base is never suitable for a dishwasher.
So, you are going to have to clean some parts of all blenders by hand. Not in a sink. And not in a dishwasher.
I like to use a sponge with vinegar or a organic soap. Or else use a paper towel.
The reason you should always clean off the base of the blender even after you’ve used the dishwasher to clean the rest of the blender parts is that you don’t want the blender to get sticky.
That sticky residue will dry and become very difficult to remove from the blender. You will end up removing parts of the finish if you let it dry and you attempt to scrub it off using someting harsh such as brillo.
Final Thoughts: Most Ninja Blenders Are Dishwasher Safe
The only parts you can’t put in the dishwasher are the “engine” parts, the base. The blender jars all tend to be dishwasher safe. They’re pretty good and affordable blenders and you should read the reviews online:
