Christmas Gifts For Health Nuts (and everyone else)

With Christmas coming up soon you are probably thinking of what type of gifts you can get the discerning people in your life. There are lots of people who rush around at the last minute hoping to get something great without much pre-planning. They might enjoy the rush of trying to find something in a store that will make the perfect gift. But that can also be a bit stressful and, of course, you might not end up finding something that you feel is a great gift. If anything, you will probably find something that will be a bit of a generic Christmas gift and not something that is  specifically geared towards what the person might really like.

All of that said, it’s still difficult to know what to get someone, especially if you’re looking to get a personalized gift. Here’s a few different options that you might want to consider if you are looking to get a unique and specialized gift for someone. There are a few different categorizes that I cover in this article. There are cheap Christmas gifts, gifts for people who are really into health, as well as some fun ideas that will be perfect gifts that you can order now and get gift wrapped so that you won’t have to worry about getting a Christmas gift at the last minute when you’re crunched for time.

An Entry Level Blender: Best Blender For Beginners

If you are planning on getting a Christmas gift for someone who is really into health and you’d like to get them something that can help them live a healthier lifestyle, then you should look into a blender for smoothies. No surprise, as this is a website that covers blenders 🙂

However, you probably don’t want to go out and get something like the top of line blenders that can be so super expensive. What you want is something that is perfectly suited for people who are looking to start making smoothies but might not be into the high end ones designed for people making smoothies already. You want something that is both easy to use, but also simple to clean. The best functionality as well as the simplest design. I personally like the Ninja. It’s one of the best blenders for beginners (i even added it to a review of the top blenders for making green smoothies). It’s got a solid construction and  great price point. I cover it here.

Food Dehydrator: Make Healthy Dried Fruit

Buying dried fruit can be both expensive as well as a bit sneakily unhealthy (if you get some dried fruits they are actually loaded with sugars or drying agents). So, what you might want to get someone as a gift if they are into health and they liked dried food is an easy to use food dehydrator.

Boots For Guys Who Love Fashion

If you are getting a gift for a guy who loves fashion, and in particular is into shoes, then you might want to get a pair of really nice boots. If your boyfriend, husband, son, or dad is really into having well made boots, and you’re looking for a perfect Christmas gift, then check out some of the more well made brands out there. A company such as Thursday Boot Company (out of NY) is known for making super high quality boots without hitting a price point that some of the more expensive companions are know for.

Hiking Boots (healthy weekend activity)

Another cool Christmas gift for health nuts (who might not want dress shoes) would be something such as hiking boots. These are great even if your friend doesn’t have the chance to wear the shoes during the week (maybe they are the type who has a office job where they can’t wear hiking boots but rather dress shoes). You can get them a really great brand of hiking boots such as Columbia. These are super durable and they are also a good value. You don’t have to spend a lot of money and you can them a great gift that they will enjoy.

Hiking is a super fun activity and the great thing for people who want to get out there and explore nature and also get healthy. You can also get them some hiking maps for local trails (you can look here for a list of cool hiking trails. you might want to print these out and include them in the gift box with the boots).

Pumpkin Beer: A Great Gift To Bring To A Party

November and December (home to Thanksgiving and Christmas) are synonymous with Pumpkin. And be it pumpkin pie or pumpkin lattee, the season is a great time to indulge in flavors that are very pumpkinish.  One really great gift to bring to a Christmas party is to bring Pumpkin ales or hard ciders. These are normally only available around November time, but some brands have taken to producing them year round. (there are still those traditionalists like Dogfish Head…stick to releasing it only when the season hits).

Because the world of pumpkin ale is so vast and interesting it’s a good idea to get some help reading up on the different pumpkin ales. Some of them are subtly flavored, while others have a more heavy pumpkin flavor. Then there are the pumpkin pie spice (cinnamon and nutmeg, etc…) ones that you will find. Here’s a few links to get you started reading about the variety of pumpkin beers and ales.

If you’re looking for Dogifish Head (one of the more popular ones) you can use their BeerFinder service. Other beer companies will also have these on their websites. You can also use BeerMenus to locate the particular pumpkin ale you want to get.
